Big 5 Hunting Daily Rates 2011
A deposit of up to 50 % of the trophy fee for any of the big five and certain rare species may be required to confirm the allocation of these animals. Such deposits are fully refundable if the hunt of the species is unsuccessful but not if the animal is wounded or lost.

Daily rates include:
Services of professional hunter, trackers, skinners and all camp staff. Fully equipped four wheel drive vehicle. Accommodation and full catering including fine South African cuisine, drinks, local wines and beers (in moderation) during the safari. Daily laundry services. Transport by road to and from O.R. Tambo International Airport. Field preparation of trophies.
Daily rates exclude:
Accommodation expenses before and after the contracted safari dates. Trophy fees for animals taken, wounded or lost. Dipping and shipping of trophies from South Africa to final destination. CITES permits. Photographic safaris. Value added tax charged on all daily rates (presently at 14 percent). Liquor. Staff and Professional Hunters’ gratuities. Charter flights.
Terms of business:
A 50 percent of the daily rate of the hunter and the observer is payable on the confirmation of the booking including value added tax @ 14%. The deposit confirms booking between the client and Silent Valley Safaris. The balance of the daily rate is payable 60 days prior to the commencement of the safari. Prices are subject to change without prior notice due to the fluctuation of the exchange rates. The trophy fees are payable at the end of the contracted safari period. Traveler’s cheques and cash are accepted. Credit cards are not accepted.
Deposits and cancellations:
If the safari is cancelled 120 days or more before the scheduled safari date, Silent Valley Safaris reserves the right to retain 50% of the daily rate. The balance will be refunded or advanced to a future safari date if requested by the client. All deposits are non-refundable in the event that a cancellation should occur 120 days or less prior to the scheduled safari dates. No refund will be given for late arrivals or early departures.
