About
As a child, Mark was a little leaguer, just like every other kid, but his true dream was to be out fishing. He loved baseball but couldn’t get that next bite out of his head. In the early 80’s, his parents bought a house on a lake in Michigan where he would spend every weekend walking the shore line fishing the docks. When he was 9 years old, a local fisherman asked him if he wanted to be his partner in a local tournament. To Mark’s surprise, they won over $1,000! That was just the beginning of the story of where Mark would ultimately end up.
He began fishing tournaments here and there until he graduated from high school and college. At that point, he was all in. Mark spent the next 10 years fishing local tournaments along with fishing the FLW Northern EverStart tour in the 90’s. He combined that with selling bass boats and helping run a local bass tournament trail.
In the Fall of 2004 Mark received a call from ESPN asking him if he would be interested in possibly hosting a new program called “Loudmouth Bass”. At first he thought it was a joke, but learned quickly that it wasn’t. His life took a big turn that day. New Years Day 2005, “Loudmouth Bass” aired on ESPN2 as part of their Bass Saturday lineup. That has since gone but Mark has stayed a staple within their bass fishing line up of shows.
Since 2005, Mark has appeared as a host on several ESPN Outdoors shows, including The World’s Greatest Fishing Show, The Bassmaster Elite Series Show, Bass Insider, College Smash-Mouth Bass, Loudmouth Bass, The Greatest Angler Debate, & BassCenter .
